摘要：Using recent survey data of Chinese rural households from 2005-20011, the paper identified the determinants of renting in and out the plots, and estimated their impact on the households’ welfare. We firstly developed a dynamic model for the behaviors of renting in and out to deal with the impact of the decision-making of last year on current year somewhat ignored by previous research, then a panel multiple endogenous treatment effect model for land rental impact to deal with the self-selection problem stemming from the unobserved variables. The results show that whether renting in or out both have statistically significant positive effects on the net income and the balance of disposable financial assets. Not only that, the renting out also has significant positive effect on consumption expenditure. The age of the householder, the educational attainment, the endowment insurance, the share of nonagricultural income, credit rationing, nonagricultural net income per capita, average acreage, the original value of productive fixed assets, the relationship, the landform, geographic position, agricultural train, nonagricultural train, the balance of disposable financial assets and the distance all significantly affect renting in or out. Land rental price and total actual acreage both have no significant impact on renting in and out.
